Over the past several decades, there has been a significant increase in the utilization of so-called “derivative” securities such as forwards, futures, swaps, and options as tools for risk management. These financial instruments are commonly referred to as “derivatives” since their prices are based on the values of other assets. The course provides a conceptual framework for understanding how to price derivatives and design risk management strategies.
